DIG is partnering with the Hartford Public Library to teach chess to Hartford students between Grades 9-12. We will have professional chess coaches like International Master Jan Van de Mortel (https://ratings.fide.com/profile/1003062) and Shawn Parker (https://www.teamdigusa.com/dig-coaches/coach-shawn-parker/) teach students weekly online. We will have classes all week, game analysis on Saturdays and tournaments/scrimmages on Sundays.
Also, any Hartford student that joins our program will get food for the entire week for their entire family delivered to their household on Monday each week. Basically, a kid that joins our chess program will feed their family every week.
Additionally, every kid that joins our program will get a tournament official chess set and chess clock along with a bag for the chess pieces.
All the chess education and supplies will be free for Hartford youth.
