Friday, October 22 was Breast Cancer Awareness Day here at Bulkeley High School. Students in both campuses took a stand in support of women everywhere fighting this disease.

According to breastcancer.org, 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of a lifetime. In 2021, an estimated 281,550 new cases of invasive cancer, and another 49,290 of non-invasive cancer.  Tragically, as many as 43,600 women may not survive.  While it is far less common in men, an estimated 2,650 men will be diagnosed this year as well.

We are proud of our students in both campuses, young women and men,  who have participated in events at both campuses during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Let’s hope we find a cure soon.
