On 5/30, Hartford Public Schools senior leadership visited many of its schools on a quest to listen to what students had to say about their experience in our schools. The district sent members of senior leadership to both of our campuses, making sure to thoughtfully consider the experiences across both buildings. Student representatives did an excellent job speaking candidly about the positive and negative aspects of their experiences at BHS. When asked what they would change, our one community had similar suggestions despite our separation. Students shared their view that we need an increase, not decrease, in mental health services for students, and a desire for a greater variety of course offerings. The district brought additional personnel including BHS' very own Mr. Cornish to take thorough notes of everything that was said. We appreciate the districts commitment to making sure students voices are represented in the direction of HPS continued growth!
